How "Batching" Can Make You More Productive
Here's a great blog post on the idea of "batching" tasks together to increase your efficiency. I think batching makes a lot of sense. By batching like tasks together and setting aside a dedicated time to work on your batch you can reduce the time you spend switching from one mindset to another. To use a techie analogy, batching keeps you from having to reload things into your RAM throughout the day.

Cloudflare Offers New Super Private Browser
Cloudflare recently announced a "browser in the cloud" service that will allow subscribers to browse the internet securely from their desktop. Unlike some other secure browser vendors, Cloudflare's service does not relay on a vm-based browser but, instead, on an isolated and headless browser in their cloud. This browser fetches web pages, which are then re-rendered safely and passed on to the user. Whole story here.

Slack Getting Stories and Always on Audio
Slack recently announced two new features that might be interesting for places committed to using it. One is a stories feature similar to Instagram. While it seems strange at first blush, this might be useful for team updates and other "announcement" type videos. The second is an always on communication channel. Reports: Microsoft to Mess with Windows 10 UI
According to sources quoted at Windows Central, Microsoft plans to make major changes to the Windows 10 UI in its 2021 October release. The project, code-named "Sun Valley" reportedly aims to bring some of Microsoft's fluent design practices to Windows and make changes to the task bar and start menu (again). Will Video Displace SMS?
This article discusses the ways some people believe Covid is changing the way we communicate, with more video chatting and less texting. While I'm perfectly ready to believe that more people have become comfortable doing business over video, I'm not sure that it will result in a decline in SMS. The two seem to have very different purposes. I wouldn't want to SMS with my doctor, but I also wouldn't want to video chat to confirm an appointment
